I grew up in Maui, Hawaii, playing in rock bands, which eventually led me to the University of Oregon, where I studied Jazz Studies on scholarship and graduated Cum Laude. While in school, I toured extensively with my original bands, Spiller and Golden Boy, and stayed active in the local music scene throughout.
After graduating, I moved to Portland, where I played music professionally and taught at School of Rock Portland for over five years. That experience taught me how to work with students of all ages and skill levels, across a huge range of instruments and styles.
I teach all genres, with particular expertise in rock, blues, jazz, R&B, and soul, and I'm passionate about helping every student get the most out of their lessons, whatever style of music brings them to the guitar, bass, or uke.
