Anneliese Messner

M.M. Music Education, M.M. Vocal Performance

Hi, I'm Anneliese!

Intro video

I teach piano and voice, but what I really do is help children and adults learn how to hear themselves.

Over 15 years of teaching music students at every stage, from beginners to advanced performance students, I've seen countless students become their most creative, curious, and confident selves.

My Approach

Lessons are built around the fundamentals, including learning how to read music, count time signatures, and express emotions through the piano or their own voice. I bring creativity into the process with improvisation, listening games, and modern tools, rather than simply relying on a lesson book.

I work especially well with homeschool families and young learners because the learning process can be flexible, unhurried, and personal.

Background & Experience

I hold two Master's degrees, in Music Education and Vocal Performance, from the Mozarteum University of Salzburg, Austria, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I have performed in solo recitals, choral works, and orchestral settings across Europe and the United States.

My goal as a teacher is to help each student build not only skill, but a genuine, personal connection to music that stays with them long after the lesson ends.
